NCD Child

NCD Child is a global coalition which fights for the rights and needs of the children, teenagers and young adults, who are at risk or struggling with a non-communicable disease (NCD). These are chronic, noninfectious, long-lasting diseases and are the result of a combination of genetic, psychological, environmental and behavioral factors.

Based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, an international treaty entered into force on September 2, 1990, NCD Child campaigns in front of the governments, civil societies and other associations for the prevention, management and treatment of children affected by NCD.

Diseases of particular interest to NCD Child are cardio vascular diseases, cancer, respiratory diseases, diabetes, mental disorders, disability, prevention of violence and injuries and sexual health of adolescents.

The sustained efforts of the organization have been and are continuously welcomed by the international community managing to raise awareness of the fact that these children are entitled and require special care, assistance and protection.
